LYRC respects the intellectual property rights of artists, creators, and copyright owners. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") and similar international laws.
If you believe that content on LYRC infringes your copyright, you may submit a formal DMCA notice to request removal.
1. Submitting a Copyright Takedown Notice
If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent, you may request the removal of allegedly infringing content by sending a DMCA notice to:
Subject line: DMCA Takedown Request
A valid DMCA notice must include all of the following:
- Your legal full name
- Your email address
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is being infringed
- Identification of the material you want removed (URL, project ID, screenshot, etc.)
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate
- A declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your name counts)
We may request additional information if needed.
2. What Happens After You Submit
Once we receive a valid notice:
- We review the claim
- We remove or disable access to the content
- We notify the affected user
- We may forward the notice to the user who uploaded the content
- We may also share the notice with external databases used to track DMCA claims
If the claim is clearly invalid or incomplete, we may reject it.
3. Submitting a Counter-Notice
If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a DMCA counter-notice to:
Subject line: DMCA Counter-Notice
Your counter-notice must include:
- Your legal full name
- Your email address
- Identification of the content removed (URL, project ID)
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the content was removed due to mistake or misidentification
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal courts in Tennessee
- Your physical or electronic signature
We will forward your counter-notice to the original complainant. If they do not file a court action within 10–14 business days, we may restore your content.
4. Repeat Infringer Policy
LYRC may terminate accounts of users who receive multiple valid DMCA takedown notices.
We determine repeat infringement at our discretion based on:
- Number of notices
- Severity of infringement
- Intention (accidental vs. willful)
- Impact on copyright holder
5. User Responsibility
Users are responsible for ensuring that:
- They own the rights to the audio and visuals they upload
- They have permission to use any copyrighted material
- They do not post or generate infringing content
Using LYRC does not grant users rights to copyrighted materials they don't own.
6. LYRC's Rights
We may remove content at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- DMCA notices
- Violations of our AUP
- Suspected copyright infringement
We are not liable for loss of data or content as a result of removals.
