Your song can need more than another performance take. LYRC’s B-Roll screen creates a short sequence from a reference image and your description: the artist in a setting, a mood, a moment, and several camera angles to work with. You can generate the footage before setting up a song template.
What you can make
Start from a saved reference
Choose an image saved in your account, including your artist reference. A reference is required for this B-Roll workflow. It guides the generated subject; check the result for likeness, clothing, and details before using it.
Request a sequence of shots
Set a requested shot count from 3 to 9. LYRC prepares a multi-shot prompt for a 15-second landscape sequence, then processes the generated footage into reusable clips. AI output and detected scene boundaries can differ from the requested shot count.
Direct the look and camera
Describe the action and environment, then choose creative controls such as camera energy, time of day, color look, film texture, and wardrobe. Use these controls to give the sequence a consistent direction.
Keep footage ready for your next post
Finished clips appear in the b-roll gallery and clip library. Use them in a project, combine them with your real footage, and reuse useful shots for another version without generating the same footage again.
From an idea to footage you can edit
Save and choose your reference
Add a reference image to your account, then select it on the B-Roll screen. Use an image you have permission to use.
Describe one clear scene
Name the setting, action, and mood. For example, describe an artist walking through a quiet city at blue hour with handheld detail shots.
Choose the generation settings
Pick the shot count, quality or fast mode, and 480p or 720p. Review the displayed credit cost before starting. A generation requires enough available credits.
Review and reuse the clips
Wait for generation and clip processing to finish. Check the actual shots, then select footage for a LYRC project. The project’s lyrics and beat cuts come from its song template.
The B-Roll source is 15 seconds in 16:9. It is footage for an edit; it does not automatically create a finished lyric video or generate your song audio. Fill and Shuffle auto-pick clips of 8 seconds or less and skip square clips. Longer clips can still be placed in slots by hand.

Common questions
Do I need a song template to generate b-roll?
No. B-Roll works on its own. A song template is needed when you want to build a lyric-video project around your timed song section.
Can I generate b-roll that looks like me?
Use your saved artist reference to guide the generated subject. This workflow requires a reference image. AI likeness and details can vary, so review the footage before using it.
Does asking for seven shots guarantee seven clips?
No. The shot count guides the multi-shot prompt. The model’s actual output and the scene extraction can produce a different number of clips.
Is AI b-roll included without spending credits?
Generation spends credits. The cost depends on the selected mode and resolution and is shown before you start. Creating a finished lyric-video export is separate and requires a paid plan and export allowance.
